The Bangladesh and Sri Lanka Test series will start on October 24, 2020

Bangladesh is going to play Sri Lanka in the first three-match Test series in the last six years.

The Bangladesh national team is finally returning to international cricket after a long hiatus due to the corona virus epidemic.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Wednesday (August 12th) confirmed that the national cricket team will tour Sri Lanka to play a three-match Test series from October 24th. 

Bangladesh is going to take part in this first three-match Test series in the last six years. 

The series was originally scheduled for July-August, but was postponed due to a coronavirus epidemic.

Before leaving for Sri Lanka, all players will be tested for Covid-19 and will have to be quarantined for 14 days after reaching Sri Lanka. 

At the beginning of the tour, the Bangladeshi players will practice on their own and play matches together.

The first Test of the series is scheduled for October 24 in Colombo. However, details from the board have not been disclosed yet.

World-class all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan could return to the field after a two-year ban from touring Sri Lanka. However, he may not be able to play the first two matches. 

Because you have to stay in quarantine for 14 days after the end of the ban.

BCB director and former Bangladesh captain Naimur Rahman told the media, “We are discussing the possible return of Shakib.

In this case, we have to follow the ICC guidelines. We need to look at his fitness, selector feedback and much more. 

We have to take a final decision after considering everything.
