Marlon Samuels has said goodbye to cricket



West Indies batsman Marlon Samuels has said goodbye to professional cricket.The memory of Bangladesh was associated with the departure of the batsman in the Caribbean.Samuels was seen playing against the Tigers in December 2016.That was his last international tournament.

Cricket West Indies chief executive Johnny Grave has confirmed Samuels' retirement.He told ESPN-Cricinfo that Samuels had announced that he would retire in June this year.The West Indies Cricket Board did not disclose the matter at the time.

The outgoing cricketer has a unique reputation, which no other cricketer in the world has.That is - he has been the best in the finals of two global tournaments.Samuels was instrumental in the West Indies winning the 2012 T20 World Cup.In the final against host Sri Lanka in Colombo, the Caribbean won by 36 runs with his all-round performance.

After scoring 6 runs off 56 balls with the bat, Samuels took 1 wicket for 15 runs with the ball.He also took 1 wicket for 15 runs in 4 overs with the ball.

Four years later, in the final of the 2018 World Cup, Samuels' innings of 75 runs from 8 balls also came from the bat.He won the team by four sixes in a row.Samuels, 39, has played 61 Tests, 206 ODIs and six T20I matches for the West Indies.He has scored more than 11,000 runs with 16 centuries. There are also 152 wickets in hand.
