Shoaib Akhtar got an offer to take drugs to speed up bowling
Shoaib Akhtar, the fastest pacer in the history of cricket, was offered drugs to speed up his bowling at the start of his career.
"When I made my cricket debut, I was told I could not bowl fast," said Shoaib Akhtar, a Rawalpindi Express star on Monday. If you want to bowl at a speed of 100 km per hour, you have to use medicine. But I have always refused to do that.
"Like me, Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir was warned about speed before the tour of England," he added. He is also interested in taking drugs to increase speed.
Addressing emerging cricketers in Pakistan, Shoaib Akhtar said youngsters should follow Prime Minister Imran Khan. He is a role model not only in Pakistan but in the whole of Asian cricket.
