Tamim Iqbal left for Karachi



ODI captain Tamim Iqbal has left for Karachi to play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) play-offs.The dashing opener left Dhaka for Karachi on an Emirates Airways flight on Tuesday morning.Tamim will play there in Lahore Calendars.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has issued a no-objection letter to Tamim as the start of the Bangabandhu T20 tournament is a bit late.Another Bangladeshi cricketer Mahmudullah was called up to play with Tamim in the last round of the tournament.But before going to Karachi to do routine tests covid-19 was caught.

He has tested positive twice. So Mahmudullah is not playing PSL.Tamim-Mahmudullah have played in Pakistan's domestic league before.Mahmudullah played for Quetta Gladiators in 2016 and 2017.On the other hand, Tamim played in Peshawar, Jalmi's jersey in 2016, 2017 and 2017.

This is the fourth time that Tamim will be seen in Pakistan's domestic league.Before leaving the country, Tamim prepared himself at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur.He also went to Mirpur on Monday for practice.In PSL Mahmudullah was supposed to be Tamim's companion.

He is not going because Corona is positive.PSL started last March.Due to the outbreak of coronavirus This T20 tournament was postponed at the end.An eliminator match, two qualifiers and a final just left. The matches will be played on November 14, 15 and 16 in Karachi.
