Rail communication is normal after 6 hours of truck collision with train

Six hours after the collision of the truck with the train, the train movement with Khulna has returned to normal.

When the relief train finished removing the truck from the railway line at around 2.30 pm on Saturday, the train started running.

Earlier, a truck driver was killed and a helper was injured in a collision with a train at Murli Rail Crossing on the Khulna-Benapole Highway at around 6:10 pm. After that the railway communication with Khulna region was stopped.

It is learned that a truck loaded with coal fell on the railway line at around 8:10 am. The Khulna-bound Kopotaksh Express train, which left Rajshahi at that time, pushed the truck and pushed it about 300 yards away.

The truck driver was killed on the spot in the accident. The helper was injured. He was admitted to Jessore 250-bed General Hospital in critical condition.

Jessore railway station stationmaster Aynal Hasan said four trains were closed after the accident. As a result, the train service with Khulna was stopped all over the country. Later, a relief train was brought from Khulna and the work of removing the truck from the railway line started. The removal of the truck was completed around 2.30 pm. After that the train movement is normal.

Jessore Kotwali Model Police Station OC Moniruzzaman said it was initially thought that the accident had taken place as the crossing barrier had not been lifted. The guard, however, claimed he had dropped the penalty.

Saiduzzaman, stationmaster of Jessore Railway Junction, said the train's engine was damaged in the accident. Rail communication is closed as the truck is stuck on the railway line.

Waliul Haque, assistant executive engineer of the railways, said that the guard at the railway crossing had given the green signal for the train to go first. This signal should not be given without lowering the barrier. Again, if the barrier is lowered, the truck is not supposed to get on the railway line. The matter will be investigated and action will be taken.
