Mohammad Amir, Shoaib Malik and Asad Shafiq are not in the Pakistan squad for the New Zealand tour
Pakistan has announced a huge 35-member team led by Babar Azam for the tour of New Zealand.Mohammad Amir, Shoaib Malik and Asad Shafiq did not have a place in this huge squad.Selector Misbah-ul-Haq argues why the three senior cricketers were not included in the squad - the PCB has plans to make a youth-dependent team.Pakistan now wants to invest in youth.
Because of the emphasis on youth, there are only four new players in the 35-man squad. They are -Fast bowler Amad Butt, middle order batsmen Danish Aziz and Imran Butt and wicketkeeper batsman Rohail Nazir.
These four are making their debut against the Kiwis.Regarding the exclusion of Asad Shafiq from the squad, selector Misbah said, "Three players have been left out of the England squad.Shafiq did not get a place because of the form.He has scored only 510 runs in the last 15 innings.Let's get back to our form in domestic cricket for now.He will return to the national team soon.
Regarding the exclusion of Amir and Malik, Misbah said the two were not kept.Because we wanted to invest in youth on this tour.Especially the emerging players in all three formats Can play for Pakistan.
If so, why Hafiz and Wahab have been kept? In response to the question, Misbah said, "I have relied on these two only because of their consistent performance.Pakistan will visit New Zealand in December-January under the leadership of Babar Azam. There will be three T20 and two Test series.
The T20s will be on December 18, 20 and 22. The first of the two Tests started on December 26 and the next on January 3, 2021.
